On land, at sea and in the air, but just a little different in the canals of Meppel. Who will be the first to cycle over the narrow bar to the bell?

On land, at sea and in the air, but just a little different in Meppel. On July 1, JCI Meppel-Reestmond will hold On land, on the canal and in the air in the water on Bleekerseiland, the place where the famous television program was recorded in 2007.

The highlight of the event is the part Cycle it in. In this part, participants have to cycle over the canal on a thin track and get to the bell as quickly as possible. There are prizes for the fastest and most beautiful bike. “We chose this part of the game because it is accessible. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the vehicle they do it with doesn’t have to be beautiful. There is an originality prize. But participating with a granny bike is also possible,” says Sander Curtain of the organizing junior room.

A young and good horse

The purpose of the event is to raise money for De Baander, a care farm near Meppel. “The farm would like to buy a young and well-behaved horse for therapeutic purposes. The money collected during the event will therefore be donated to this care farm,” says Curtain.

On land, at sea and in the air is nostalgia for the members. “We all watched the program. That is how the idea was born. The Grand Prix we held with karts in the center was a great success and we wanted to organize something new as a service club. Thus On land, on the canal and in the air.”

It is not yet known who holds the presentation. More information about the event is here to find.
