“Due to the heavy workload of being a minister, the risk of premature birth is too great. The health of her baby is the only thing that matters at the moment. That is why she is resigning from her duties today on doctor’s advice and going on maternity leave,” it said in a short statement.
Depraetere will be replaced during the duration of her maternity leave. Vooruit chairman Conner Rousseau will communicate about the replacement after his party’s office on Monday.
