The Public Prosecution Service is prosecuting 30-year-old former Ajax player Quincy Promes for attempted murder. This is done at the request of the victim’s lawyer. Promes’ lawyer had no objection to this.
The victim’s lawyer, Promes’ cousin, had filed a complaint with the court to add to the suspicion. The complaint initially made it appear that the trial had to be postponed, because the court could not make a decision before March 31.
Speed procedure
“As a result of this message, the Public Prosecution Service was approached by the suspect’s lawyer, who suggested adjusting the indictment to the wishes of the victim’s lawyer and thus expanding the indictment with attempted murder,” the Public Prosecution Service said. “That could help speed up the procedure.”
It therefore seems that the lawsuit can still take place on March 31 and therefore does not need to be postponed.
