The most valuable central defender without a club is off the market: Mbemba, whose market value is estimated at 17 million euros, signed a contract with Olympique Marseille on Friday until 2025. The 27-year-old’s working paper at FC Porto had previously expired after four years. For the Congolese international it is the fourth professional stop in the fourth country.
Mbemba leaves Porto after 137 games and has won two championships and cups, among other things. “His speed, strength, assertiveness in defensive duels, as well as his numerous games in Europe make this real fighter a very valuable player whose experience will benefit our collective,” reads Marseille’s statement.
