Olympique Lyon: Faivre is coming, courting Ndombélé – competition from Bayer Leverkusen

Substitute for Guimaraes

While Bruno Guimarães’ move to Newcastle United is nearing completion, Olympique Lyon’s search for replacements continues. As French media unanimously report, Romain Faivre from league rival Stade Brest 29 is about to sign OL.

The 23-year-old will therefore complete his medical check-up in Lyon on Sunday. The fee is 16 million euros, bonuses could add 2 million euros. The winger, who was signed by AS Monaco in 2020 for just 400,000 euros, gives Stade Brest a whopping transfer plus, although 20 percent still go to his former club. Faivre, currently tied until 2025, is one of the top scorers in Ligue 1 with twelve goals in 21 games.

For a further reinforcement in the central midfield, look from Lyon to Tottenham Hotspur. A loan from Giovani Lo Celso (25) had already taken shape, but reports the “L’Equipe“that Villarreal FC, coached by Lo Celso’s ex-coach Unai Emery, has now started courting the Argentine – the outcome is open.

Olympique Lyon wants to bring Ndombélé back – competition from Bayer Leverkusen

Therefore, according to “Téléfoot”, OL is trying to get Lo Celso’s teammate Tanguy Ndombélé. The 25-year-old could return to Lyon on loan around two and a half years after his 60 million euro move to Tottenham, he recently played no role in Antonio Conte’s team. Olympique have already made contact with the players, but above all they have to create the financial conditions to take over part of the lavish salary of the French international, who is still under contract with “Spurs” until 2025.

However, OL also has competition at Ndombélé. Although PSG is said to be out of the race in the meantime, in addition to FC Valencia there is still a lead to Bayer Leverkusen, according to the “L’Equipe“. After the departure of Nadiem Amiri (25; Genoa CFC), the Werkself are looking for a replacement in midfield. So far, PSG talent Junior Dina Ebimbe (21) has been the top candidate, but according to the French media, talks about a loan are said to be stuck on the issue of the amount of the purchase option for the time being. OL is said to be in pole position at Ndombélé.
