The ski jumpers are celebrating a strange return to the World Cup after the Olympics. The winner, as is often the case, is Domen Prevc. But it doesn’t stop there.
Philipp Raimund celebrated his first World Cup victory in the first competition after the Olympic Games. The Olympic champion on the normal hill benefited from the disqualification of top favorite Domen Prevc and won in Lahti, Finland.
Raimund flew to 122.5 m, but was initially surpassed by Prevc (129.0 m) in the mini competition with only one round.
When jumping from the large hill on Friday, only one round was held as planned. Despite the disqualification, Prevc’s victory in the overall World Cup can no longer be taken away. The winner of the Four Hills Tournament celebrated his supposed seventh World Cup victory in a row too early because he weighed too little for the length of his skis. Daniel Tschofenig (Austria) came second ahead of Wladimir Sografski from Bulgaria.
