VOLLEYBALL – After two victories in a row, Olhaco lost again today. In the Top Division, the Hoogeveners lost 3-0 against Huizen (20-25, 15-25 and 28-30). Sudosa-Desto, the other Drenthe Top Divisionist, managed to win 3-0 on a visit to EVV from Elburg.
Olhaco was unable to continue the upward trend of recent weeks. The top division’s bottom line had little to say against Huizen today. Only in the last set (28-30) did the team of trainer Menno Volkerink offer the necessary resistance.
The day went a lot more smoothly for the gentlemen of Sudosa-Desto. In the first set against EVV, the teams were still close to each other (25-23), but the other sets were won relatively easily by the Assenaren (25-17 and 25-19).
The volleyball competitions have been severely disrupted by the corona measures. For example, Sudosa-Desto has played sixteen games, while competitors have now played 22 games. It is therefore difficult to draw conclusions from the ranking of the Top Division.
Olhaco and Sudosa-Desto will play the last game of the season next week. Olhaco gets a visit from ‘leader’ Dynamo Apeldoorn and Sudosa-Desto takes on AVV Keistad from Amersfoort in Assen.
