Offset was hit in the leg in a shooting in Florida and was briefly hospitalized. Two days after his release, he performed live in a wheelchair.

Just two days after being shot, US rapper Offset made a surprisingly quick comeback. The former Migos artist was back on stage live around 48 hours after being released from the hospital – and in a wheelchair. The performance in the US state of Arkansas has sparked discussions in the hip-hop community ever since.

Shots in Florida: dispute escalates

The events were triggered by a shooting on April 6, 2026 in front of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. The incident was reportedly preceded by an argument between Offset and rapper Lil Tjay. During the altercation, a member of Lil Tjay’s circle is said to have fired a shot that hit Offset in the leg.

Police confirmed that Lil Tjay was temporarily arrested in connection with the incident, but was released a short time later. The situation got even worse on social media: Lil Tjay publicly called Offset a “rat”.

“True Love”

Despite the injury, Offset wasn’t slowed down for long. He was back on stage just two days after being discharged from the hospital. At the performance in Arkansas, he performed sitting in a wheelchair, which caused mixed reactions from the audience. He staged his return on Instagram: There the rapper shared impressions of his appearance and commented on them with the words “True Love”.

While many fans celebrate the quick return as a sign of professionalism and perseverance, others question the early return to the stage.

Violence against Migos members

Offset is not the first member of Migos to be a victim of gun violence. On November 28, 2022, his childhood friend Takeoff was shot and killed at the age of 28 after a situation escalated at an alleged dice game.

Although Offset is now performing again and his health appears to be stable, it remains unclear how the situation surrounding the conflict with Lil Tjay will develop further.
