On Wednesday, April 6, 2026, at 7 p.m. local time, according to the police report, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, Offset’s real name, visited a casino in the US state of Florida. As he was leaving the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, there was an exchange of gunfire in the parking lot. The artist was shot and then had to be taken to hospital with injuries.
Shortly after his admission, a spokesman for the rapper released a statement to Variety about his health. It said the 34-year-old’s condition was stable: “We can confirm that Offset has been shot and is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital. Two suspects arrested
The circumstances of the attack are currently being investigated by local authorities. Two suspected perpetrators were arrested during the investigation, according to local police.

Offset is not the first former Migos member to be a victim of gun violence. Three years ago, on November 28, 2022, US rapper Takeoff was shot dead at the age of 28 after something went wrong in a suspected dice game.
The incident occurred in Houston, Texas. It remains to be seen whether there is a connection between the two incidents.
