The 44-year-old West-Vlaming takes the place of the German Rolf Aldag at the team. His first job will wait from next Wednesday in the Tour Alsace (2.2) in France. There he will assist the Italian Cesare Benedetti in the team leader wagon at the Red Bull-Hansgrohe Rookies. The appointment of Vanthourenhout does not fall from the sky. During the past Tour de France he was already frequently associated with the German team, but confirmation has not been done so far.
Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe showed himself in the Tour with a great third place for the German Florian Lipowitz, who also concluded the youth classification.
