Official: Club coach Carl Hoefkens fired
The position of Carl Hoefkens has been under pressure for a long time after disappointing matches in the competition. This week Club played a draw against OHL. Carl Hoefkens was whistled after the match by a group of supporters.
Carl Hoefkens (44) achieved a historic success with Club Brugge barely two and a half months ago. The team was able to qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League after a draw at Atlético Madrid.

Carl Hoefkens was appointed head coach of Blauw-Zwart at the end of May. Hoefkens (43) was previously assistant coach at the U18 and U21 of Club and Talent Coach and has acted as assistant to the first team for the past 3 seasons.
Despite a good track in the Champions League, the performance and level of play in the competition remained below expectations. The World Cup break brought no improvement. On Wednesday, Club was eliminated in the Belgian Cup and on Monday it came no further than 1-1 against OH Leuven.”
