Odlo takes over the Henri-Lloyd sailing brand

The clothing supplier Odlo International AG is further expanding its portfolio. On Monday, the Switzerland-based sports and outdoor specialist announced that it would take over the Henri-Lloyd brand. Founded in 1963 in Manchester, UK, the company is best known for its functional sailing clothing. Financial details of the proposed transaction were not released.

Hugo Maurstad, Odlo’s Chairman, commented on the upcoming acquisition: “We are delighted to welcome Henri-Lloyd to our family of brands,” he said in a statement. “It’s an iconic brand with a proud history. Together with Odlo, we want to further expand the product range and geographical expansion.” Both companies “emerged from technical innovations in the field of outdoor sportswear” and would “complement each other in the future,” says Maurstad.

Founded in 1946 in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, the Odlo brand has belonged to the Swiss group of companies Monte Rosa Sports Holding AG since 2020. The company is currently pursuing an active takeover policy: in March Odlo took over the Norwegian textile manufacturer Janus Holding AS, which specializes in woolen underwear.
