The Swiss outdoor outfitter Odlo has launched a first children’s collection that uses fabric leftovers from series production that would otherwise have ended up in landfills.
“This colourful, comfortable children’s clothing collection proves that leftover fabrics can be important resources. As we work towards using 100 percent sustainable fabrics by 2030, I see this as another important milestone on this journey. We are very proud of this solution,” says Odlo product manager Ulrike Froitzheim in a statement.
Consisting of materials ranging from stretch jersey to merino wool, the collection offers technical garments that are lightweight, comfortable, soft, quick-drying, colorful and durable.
These include the quick-drying F-Dry Active T-shirt for EUR 24.95 and the Concord Merino Print T-shirt made from merino wool for EUR 39.95, which is thermoregulating, sweat-wicking and robust.
There are also two hoodies: a full-zip hoody made of polyknit material for EUR 54.95 and the mid-layer hoody for EUR 44.95. Soft jogging pants in three colors (EUR 44.95) and a reversible beanie (EUR 17.95), both made of stretchy jersey and in different color combinations, round off the collection.
Odlo plans to add more styles to the “WeAct” children’s collection each season for the next three years, saving 12.3 tons of fabric from landfill.
