Last year alone, Menen helped 108 living wage earners find a job, more than double than expected. For this strong result, it receives almost 50,000 euros from Flanders. Guidance to the workplace is provided by the social house.
“For example, we have people who mainly make people stronger and tackle barriers such as language, mobility, childcare… They actually do a bit of the preparatory work,” explains Emilie Vandenheede of the Social House in Menen.
“Then we have a number of people who really put people into work and offer a job for a certain period to gain those work experiences. And then we also have a number of specialists who ensure that people move on to a job in the regular labor circuit.”
