In front of the upcoming Oasis concerts in Heaton Park in Manchester, the police and organizers warn of the risk that numerous fans without a ticket could try to get access to the site. In social networks, especially on Tikok, videos are currently circulating in which supposed “weaknesses” of the fencing are shown and instructions for bypassing the security measures are given.

Some videos, for example, recommend climbing trees or swimming through the boat pond to get access to the concert area. The organizers of SJM Concerts react with increased security measures: A double fence with patrols in between should secure the site, in addition, around 2,000 security forces and a “significant number” are used to the police officer: inside.

Authorities are preparing intensively

The concert organizers and the police have announced extensive security measures to secure the upcoming Oasis concerts. According to Rob Ballantine, director of SJM Concerts, they have been working closely with authorities and emergency services for over a year in order to make the concerts safely. “Every person without a valid ticket should refrain from getting to Heaton Park,” emphasizes Ballantine.

The Greater Manchester Police also announced a “large -scale, visible police presence” in the park, in the city center and on the access roads. The aim is to both ensure the security of concert goers: to ensure inside and prevent disorders and crimes.

The city of Manchester sharply criticized the Tikok videos. John Hacking, city council for leisure and culture, described the instructions as “irresponsible” and warned against risking his own security. Instead, the city recommends ticket -free fans to switch to the city center, where an extensive supporting program is planned on the day of the concerts.

The return of the Gallagher brothers after 16 years

As a reminder: On July 4th and July 5th, the Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam performed together for the first time in 16 years. The concerts in the Welsh capital in the Principality Stadium marked the starting signal of the Reunion tour. They were supported by the Supportacts Cast and Richard Ashcroft. During the two evenings, the Britrockers played numerous hits – such as “Morning Glory”, “Don’t look back in Anger” and also “Wonderwall”.
