Mood despite the rain: fans celebrate until the last encore
The shows marked the first appearances in Canada in 17 years. Accordingly, the fans were in a good mood in the sold -out Rogers stage. Even when it started to rain during “Stand by Me”, the crowd could not be prevented from celebrating and singing along. At the end of the evening everyone was soaking wet, but neither Oasis nor the fans could spoil the mood of the weather, instead it was sung to the end, including the encore.
Oasis Live: Classics from the 90s dominate the setlist
The band played a cross -section of their entire repertoire: six songs from their debut album Definitionally Maybe, eight from the popular second album (what’s the story) Morning Glory? And many more from their entire career. With a few exceptions from their 2000 era, they mainly played crowd favorites from their heyday in the 1990s.
Cage the Elephant opened the evenings in Toronto
Previously, the opening act Cage the Elephant heated up the stadium with its own 11-song set. Among them were their three biggest hits: “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”, “Shake Me Down” and “Come A Little Closer”.
Consultation before Neil Young
Before they entered the stage shortly before 9 p.m., the band not only played their intro song “F-in the Bushes” (2000), which has been used for over a decade, but also “Rockin ‘in the Free World” by Canadian rock legend Neil Young-a kind of tribute for their visit to Canada.
