Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha was caught using banned substances. PDO

Nigerian sprinter Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha has been suspended due to a doping scandal, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), which oversees the ethics of athletics, informs on its Twitter account.

Nwokocha’s sample was found to contain ostarine and ligandrol – both anabolic substances banned by Wada. In a conditional suspension, the athlete is not allowed to participate in competitions, but can still be heard before the final decision is given in his case.

The 21-year-old sprinter’s season had gone up until the start. Nwokocha broke her record in both 100 and 200 meters at the World Championships held in June and made it to the semi-finals on both trips. In Eugene, he shot 100 with a time of 10.97, and at half the track the quote was 22.44. At the Commonwealth Games held at the turn of July and August, Nwokocha anchored Nigeria and brought gold in the 4×100 meter relay.
