NYT: Donald Trump Jr. wants to testify before committee January 6 ANP
Donald Trump junior, son of the former US president, will testify before the House of Representatives committee investigating the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, The New York Times reports citing an anonymous source.
Trump junior has not been subpoenaed, the source says, he will voluntarily answer questions about the day of the storm. Earlier, text messages that Trump junior sent to former chief of staff Mark Meadows that day had come out in which the younger Trump urged Meadows to persuade President Trump to condemn the violence. “We need a speech. He has to lead now. This is going too far and is getting out of hand,” Trump junior wrote, among other things.
President Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner testified before the committee.
