The driver from Uitwellingerga has signed a contract with the Mahindra Racing team for the new season. “I am very much looking forward to this new challenge in my career,” he writes on Instagram.

Before De Vries ended up in Formula 1, he drove for the Mercedes team in Formula E. He won the world title in this class in 2021.

Coming home

“It feels like coming home in a way,” reports the 28-year-old Fries in a press release from his new team. “Formula E is a familiar environment, I already know everyone well. I also enjoyed racing there. It is also exciting to represent such a major car manufacturer like Mahindra. I am very enthusiastic about their future plans and see that the foundations are already solid.”

De Vries has signed a multi-year contract with .Mahindra Racing. He will have the Swiss Edoardo Mortara as a teammate. The new season in Formula E starts in January 2024 in Mexico City.
