New music from Nura has been available since February 17th – the single “Sidebitch”. She already played the song at festivals last year and presented part of it on TikTok on February 7th. Then, on February 16, she announced the release on Instagram. The day before, it was announced there that there would be a tour in 2023. Eleven shows are planned in Germany and Austria between October 5th and 18th.
“You are my side bitch”. The 35-year-old Berliner naturally reverses the cliché behind the word, which actually means something like affairs, if one would still think of or describe relationship dynamics in terms of affairs without it sounding old-fashioned. Men (and other women) are the bitches and she is the hard-nosed player whose cell phone pulls all the strings together. Maybe it’s the unofficial sequel to her 2018 song “Chaya” with Trettmann (“I’m your Chaya”), which was at least even more open to the concept of monogamous relationships.
A lot has happened in the life of Nura Habib Omer since that release, who rose to prominence as part of the rap duo SXTN alongside Juju. She plays a leading role in the hit series “Die Discounter”, her biography “Do you know what I mean?” became a bestseller and in between she has released two albums and several EPs until 2021. In 2022, however, it was musically rather quiet, only one joint single with Remoe was heard – “Dilara”. It has not yet been confirmed whether this year will bring an album alongside such an early first single.
