Number of Russian banks lose access to SWIFT ANP
A number of Russian banks are being closed off from the international payment system SWIFT. The countries of the European Union and its allies have agreed on this, says European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. They want to hit Russia in its “war chest”.
The disconnection of Russian banks from the crucial message service for payments is considered a very hefty sanction.
