Number of accidents involving uninsured drivers increased by a quarter since 2021

Last year, the Belgian Common Guarantee Fund (BGWF), which compensates road users when the other party is not insured, opened 6,559 new files for accidents involving uninsured drivers. That is 4.7 percent more than in 2023 and more than a quarter more than in 2021. The BGWF reported this to Belga on Tuesday.
