Number 1722 activated after code yellow for thunderstorms

According to the RMI, up to 30 liters per square meter of precipitation would fall in one hour. Code yellow is meant to make people vigilant.

On the coast and in the rest of West Flanders, code yellow already applies from 10 p.m. on Saturday evening. East Flanders also follows a little later. For Antwerp, Flemish Brabant, Limburg and Brussels, code yellow will only take effect on Sunday morning.

The number 1722, for non-emergency interventions by the fire brigade, is activated. The Federal Public Service Home Affairs reported this on Saturday, after the RMI issued a yellow code for thunderstorms.
