In its second match of the World Basketball Championships, Finland will face host Japan. Susijeng has a must-win spot if the team wants to continue in the games.

Finland’s possible place in the next round is anyway behind many bends, after Germany beat Australia in the morning match. In addition to beating Japan, Finland should beat the reigning EC bronze medalist Germany in crushing style in the last match of the group in order to improve the basket ratio of the mutual matches, or Japan should surprise Australia.

Japan is in the 36th place in the Fiba ranking. So Finland goes into the match as a small advance favorite. Japan lost their opening game against Germany 81–63.

Iltalehti follows the Japan match in this article.
