In the second Friday game at the ATP tennis tournament in Munich, Austria’s Dominic Thiem and Talyor Fritz from the USA compete.
The seeded second Taylor Fritz had moved into the quarter-finals of the traditional tournament with a 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 3 victory over the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics at the Munich ATP tournament. Fritz was last eliminated at the ATP Masters in Monte Carlo in the semifinals.
Thiem has to go twice
The opponent of the world ranking tenth was only determined in the morning. The game between Swiss Marc-Andrea Hüsler and former US Open winner Dominic Thiem (Austria) was canceled on Thursday evening after increasing rain at a score of 7: 5, 3: 3 due to the onset of darkness.
Thiem was able to turn the match on Friday and was the winner in the end (7: 5, 4: 6; 4: 6). The 29-year-old sees the game as a “long warm-up” for the upcoming quarterfinals against Fritz.
