Now also allegations of abuse against Flake

Recent abuse allegations against Rammstein have surfaced. So far, the focus of the allegations has been directed against singer Till Lindemann, but in a current investigation by the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) and the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, keyboarder Christian Lorenz alias Flake is now also confronted with incidents. The focus is on an incident in Flake’s estate in Brandenburg. This was more than 20 years ago.

A then 17-year-old woman told the large team of reporters that after they went to a bar together in December 2002, sexual acts had apparently taken place. At the time, she was “absolutely in love” with Till Lindemann, the woman is quoted as saying, who initially “embellished” her real age by five years compared to Lindemann and Lorenz. As in previous cases, alcohol and sedatives were allegedly involved, the report said.

After Lindemann had left the group in Flake’s quarters to sleep, she would have gone to her own bed there. Flake would have missed and according to her own statements she would not have been able to stop the keyboard player. At least she turned away, whereupon Flake would have turned her back and had sex with her.

“I made it happen”

She didn’t want the sex, but she didn’t say “no” either, didn’t resist and just lay there, the statement said. “I let it happen. I was like off, separated from myself,” says the woman to the NDR/SZ research team. “I was at least super drunk and he knew it because he was there all the time. I was just out of my mind.”

The woman provided all of the descriptions under an oath. Just like numerous other informants to whom she had already told the events on a private level in the past.

Flakes denied

Christian “Flake” Lorenz has already had these statements denied by a lawyer. Lindemann’s team of lawyers also got involved. The reporting in this Causa would be illegal, it is said.

Another woman reports on an early Rammstein concert in 1996 in Gera. Said gig later culminated in a hotel pool party. Although she said she did not drink much alcohol that evening, she would have ended up in the hotel room sedated. The next morning she would have woken up undressed and with severe abdominal pain. Lorenz also slept in this room. What exactly happened that night eludes her precise knowledge due to her ailing condition, she says.

More about Rammstein

Lorenz and another band member let the Rammstein lawyer announce that nothing of the described had happened. In addition, other people in the “recruiting team” for young women are said to have been involved. This would have been the result of selected chat logs and interviews with numerous affected women and the tour staff.

Were there other Rammstein helpers?

So far, only the Russian “casting director” Alena Makeeva has been mentioned, through whom various women are said to have gained access to the band leader. The report now speaks of another “acquaintance of Alena M.”, the former Lindemann bodyguard, an interim band manager and one of his business partners.

The people mentioned did not respond to the inquiries from “SZ” and “NDR” or refused answers about Till Lindemann. Only the said acquaintance of Makeeva spoke out. She never heard anything about assaults. Instead, she speaks of “gratitude and happiness” among female fans.

Rammstein are on Tuesday (July 18) before the third Berlin concert in the Olympic Stadium. There are eight more shows to play before the end of the current European tour in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
