Novak Djokovic, the number 1 seed in men’s singles at the Australian Open, the first grand slam tennis tournament of the season, reached the fourth round.


The third round matches were played in the evening session of the 6th day of the tournament held in Melbourne.


Djokovic, who has 24 grand slam titles in his career, 10 of which were at the Australian Open, faced the number 30 seed, Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry.


The Serbian racket, who beat his opponent 3-0 with sets of 6-3, 6-3 and 7-6 in the fight that lasted 2 hours and 28 minutes, will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (20) for his ticket to the quarter-finals.


Russian Andrey Rublev, the number 5 seed, beat the American Sebastian Korda, the number 29 seed, with sets of 6-2, 7-6 and 6-4.
