Nottingham Forest has O’Brien on loan to DC United until the summer

Hardly any season 2023

Nottingham Forest have loaned midfielder Lewis O’Brien to MLS club DC United until the end of the Premier League season. The 24-year-old had made 17 appearances for the “Tricky Trees” so far this season and scored one goal. Since January, however, the left foot, who was signed from Huddersfield for 9.4 million euros in 2022, had only been used 20 minutes.

“Lewis deserves this opportunity to play football. Everyone knows his situation so now he can play a few games until the end of the season and that will be really positive for him. It’s going to be a great experience and we wish him all the best,” said Forest coach Steve Cooper about the loan deal. O’Brien’s contract at Nottingham runs until 2026.
