The doors of Notre Dame were ceremonially reopened on Saturday evening, five years after a fire caused extensive damage to the Paris cathedral. Archbishop Ulrich of Paris, after invoking the Blessed Virgin, struck the doors of the restored church with his staff, causing them to swing open. He then led President Emmanuel Macron and his wife inside amid choral singing, where numerous heads of state and government were waiting.
