In February 2020, Baby Jules was picked up at the host mother after a day by the Babysit. When the parents got their son back in the evening, they immediately noticed that something was wrong. Shaken baby syndrome was established in UZ Gent, but the investigation did not yield any suspect at the time.
Two years later, a second baby, Noa, was admitted with similar symptoms. This led to a reopening of the investigation. That new research now shows that the babies did not suffer their injuries at the host mother.
