Not every elderly person will still be welcome in the nursing home: “Government is working on extra beds, but there will be too few”

In a few years there will no longer be room in nursing homes for all the elderly who would like to have one. And those who can go to a residential care center will stay there for less time than is currently the case. Where should the people who are no longer welcome in a WZC go? And who decides when an elderly person is no longer able to live at home? “In 2040 there will be almost 350,000 Flemish people over the age of 85, 130,000 more than now.”
