NOS Journaal welcomes three new television reporters in The Hague | NOW

It NOS News will receive three new television reporters in the editorial office in The Hague. Emma Jackson, Nouschka van der Meijden and Jorn Jonker fill the positions that arose after the departure of Ron Fresen, Ireen Oostveen (to final editors NOS Youth news) and Ardy Stemerding (to become Brussels correspondent).

Jackson and Van der Meijden will start in their new positions on July 1. Jonker has already started this week.

Jackson has been working for the NOS for more than eleven years. The 39-year-old journalist started at the Binnenland editorial board and later became editor of the Economy editorial. Recently, she assisted the editors in The Hague as a radio reporter and that was mutually beneficial.

Van der Meijden (32) joined the NOS this year as a political editor. Before that, she gained experience in The Hague at the political editors of the talk shows Peacock/Jinek (BNNVARA) and Jinek/BEAU (RTL 4).

Jorn Jonker (34) first worked with the team from The Hague news hour (NOS/NTR), where he was a reporter for 2.5 years. He was nominated for the Sonja Barend Award because of his short interview with Prime Minister Mark Rutte about the fuss about Pieter Omtzigt’s ‘position elsewhere’.

‘A great new start’

Dominique van der Heyde, chief of the political editors of the NOS, is more than satisfied with the addition to her team. “It will be a great new start: with ‘a star is Jorn’ Jonker, who brings his qualities to the table news hour has more than proven. With Nouschka’s keen eye on society and politics; with her interviews she is already showing the politicians the fire.”

“And Emma is a journalistic heavyweight; she is exchanging the chief of the Economy editors to start tracing and making stories herself again. I am looking forward to her coming to The Hague.”
