The Norwegian Football Association, headed by Qatar critic Lise Klaveness, will not be present at the World Cup games in the desert state.

That was decided by the Presidium around Klaveness on Wednesday. Klaveness had previously expressed an intention to do so.

“In our opinion, Qatar was awarded the World Cup in an unacceptable way. And this had unacceptable consequences,” she justified her position after the association meeting in Trondheim.

Accordingly, no NFF representative will attend a final round match (November 20th to December 18th) in the stadium. The Norwegian national team around star striker Erling Haaland did not qualify for the World Cup.

The only exception to the boycott decision is for national team match analyst Andrew Findlay. In Qatar, this should, among other things, observe the German preliminary round opponent Spain, which Norway meets in the qualification for the EM 2024.

National coach Staale Solbakken will also not be there.
