Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram made the announcement today at a meeting of the International Contact Group for Military Aid to Ukraine in Brussels. Norway has 36 Leopard 2A4 tanks. The minister had already announced in January that the country would supply tanks to Ukraine, but it was not yet clear how many there would be exactly.
At the beginning of this month, Norway also announced that it would purchase 54 latest-generation Leopards (2A7) from German defense company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. It should replace the aging 2A4s.
