Noel Gallagher: No heart for Abba avatars

The angry citizen from Manchester turns things up again. This time he takes the live model of his Swedish colleagues from Korn. A spectacle without any meaning, he etches in an interview with the tabloid “The Sun on Sunday”.

From May 27th, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid will be on stage as virtual art figures. A few tickets are still available for the holography shows for the new “Voyage” album, which will take place in the purpose-built Abba Arena in London’s Olympia Park.

If Noel Gallagher had his way, thousands of fans could save themselves that money. From the musician’s point of view, that would be out of the question for him. He considers the ABBA model to be modernist rubbish. “No, no, there would have to be an audience there. You need the crowd in front of you. It’s all about human interaction, after all, and if you don’t have that, it’s meaningless.”

Once he has gained momentum, his criticism is generally directed against rock’n’roll as an age model. He would no longer want to be on stage in his mid-seventies. “Do I want to live another 50 years?” was his rhetorical question. “Nah. You just have to think about how shit the world is now. I wouldn’t want to live through that. I’ll be gone when I’m 75!”

The alternative plan: the 54-year-old: release three more official albums in the next ten years. And then a dignified exit…
