Kasper van der Laan with Hot

Kasper van der Laan has a new show. The show Hot is described by the comedian himself as absurd, unpredictable, disarming, hilarious and yet also a bit sexy. His special sense of humor and elusive hazy personality also come into play Hot to their right.

With his original ideas and his logic to get a grip on the everyday, he takes the viewer into his world of experience. Van der Laan keeps storming and never leaves, at least that is his plan. In 2018 he won the Leids Cabaret Festival, was voted comedy talent of 2019 by De Volkskrant and received the Neerlands Hoop for his debut 1 kilo . He is also a member of Comedytrain.

Listening to inner voice

Do you dare to listen to yourself? To the inner voices that tell you to flee from what you do not want to deal with, or that call you back to what is really important? In Closed Eyes Alida Dors invites the viewer to disconnect from all daily stimuli. Open your eyes and dare to dream. A young man descends to the place where the call is audible to him: in the depths of the Surinamese Brokopondo reservoir, where his ancestors lived. With the help of poetic dance, film images, stirring live music and spoken word by Dors, the audience is taken to a magical parallel universe by seven dancers and three musicians. Closed Eyes is an invitation to be guided by your dreams, in a world between past, present and future. For inspiration, Dors went to Suriname with a crew.

They filmed above Ganzee, the village of her ancestors, which disappeared under the water of the reservoir. ‘My ancestors dreamed for their grandchildren. I wanted to go back to the place where they dreamed those dreams. Where they lived.’ Dors is a theater maker, choreographer and artistic director of Theater Rotterdam. She creates interdisciplinary dance chronicles with influences from hip hop and modern dance, such as Primisi , RIOT and Or Die Trying already shown before. Last season she choreographed the performance The Story of Travis .
