Despite the wild start: Freiburg and Hoffenheim step on the spot

The SCF and the TSG have a turbulent initial phase in the direct duel. But then both teams find it difficult.
A result that neither really helps either: SC Freiburg and TSG Hoffenheim separated 1: 1 (1: 1) on the 5th Bundesliga matchday. Lukas Kübler (3rd) had given the hosts early, Fisnik Asllani (13th) achieved the equalization for the guests.
Freiburg thus stays in seventh place in the table, Hoffenheim is in ninth place. Four days after the 2-1 against FC Basel in the Europa League and four days before the next international challenge on Thursday at Bologna FC, the Breisgauen lacked punch. After two league successes against VfB Stuttgart and at Werder Bremen it was enough for the SC to a draw against mostly well-stocked Hoffenheimers.
The TSG lost in April for the last time, 2: 3 in Freiburg. In the third head of the season abroad, Christian Ilzer’s team already collected the seventh point.
“We have to want it more, everyone in the stadium has to see it more.” Freiburg coach Julian Schuster said before the kick -off at the broadcasting broadcaster DAZN when asked what the game would decide.
The SC professionals demonstrated will and overview right after three minutes: After a corner, the guests let the ball through to Junior Amadu, the template of which Kübler dusted to 1-0. The early goal then also kept the video evidence – Freiburg felt on the right track.
But the Hoffenheimers took up speed in the initially brisk game. Vladimir Coufal used a ball loss of Captain Vincenzo Grifo for a precise cross. The new striker Asllani thanked the equalization.
Goal scorer Kübler then had to go down at the SC before the break: a head collision with Bernardo, who continued to play with a turban, had added too much to him. The longer interruption was not good for the game, everything seemed a bit torn until half -time.
In the second round, the Breisgauer took over the events a little more. Especially since in midfield Maximilian Eggestein and Patrick Osterhage, the two goal scorers from Basel-Sieg, Kramarić and Co. Smindling, it is playing their game.
Ilzer brought another creative force with Damar, his colleague Schuster in Igor Matanović and Derry Scherhann two new attackers. A dangerous end of Osterhage still caused excitement, otherwise there was not much happened.
In the final phase, SC keeper Noah Atubolu saved his team from deficiency with strong parades against Tim Lemperle and Ihlas Bebou. Freiburg against Hoffenheim also remained unbeaten in the ninth competitive game in series.
