No trains will run between Hoogeveen and Assen this weekend and Monday due to track work. Travelers should take into account approximately half an hour of extra travel time.
The NS uses stop buses between Assen, Beilen and Hoogeveen to take travelers from A to B. In addition, express buses run between Groningen and Hoogeveen.
The work is carried out by ProRail. This will include replacing rails and working on a level crossing.
According to information from the NS, the work will start next night, and you can take the train again on Tuesday morning. Until then, no intercity trains or sprinters will run on this route.
Travelers should note that bicycles cannot be taken on the bus. The replacement bus services may also be busier than normal, especially at peak times.
The NS advises travelers to plan their journey well in advance and take extra travel time into account.
