The collision happened around 4.45 pm at the level crossing in Broekstraat. It would be an act of desperation. This is confirmed by both the Fluvia emergency response zone and Frédéric Petit of Infrabel.
Yesterday there was another train accident in Wortegem-Petegem, at another level crossing. A father and toddler were slightly injured and train traffic was also interrupted.
