No return to FC Bayern? PSV wants to use Tillman’s purchase option

At FC Bayern, Malik Tillman has so far been denied a breakthrough in the Bundesliga. When he is on loan, however, the offensive player regularly impresses with good performances. Therefore, PSV Eindhoven apparently wants to retain the US international on a long-term basis.

In the summer, Malik Tillman extended his contract with FC Bayern until 2026. At the same time, the German record champions loaned the 21-year-old to PSV Eindhoven for one year. After a mixed start, the Nuremberg native is now a regular at the league leaders. In twelve league games, the offensive player scored five goals and provided three more.

Therefore, the top Dutch club would like to keep the eight-time US international beyond the summer. According to the “Eindhovens Dagblat”, the 24-time champion is willing to pay the purchase option of 14 million euros for the flexible creative player.

Will FC Bayern bring Malik Tillman back?

However, FC Bayern probably has the last word. According to the regional newspaper’s report, the Munich team has an option that allows them to cancel the purchase option if they pay compensation to PSV. The Eindhovens Dagblat did not provide any information about the amount of these sums.

It is also unknown whether FC Bayern is planning to work with the American from next season. The Bundesliga team has a very high-caliber team on offense. It is therefore doubtful whether Tillman will get regular playing time in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

The former German U21 international moved from Greuther Fürth to FC Bayern’s youth department in 2015. He has appeared seven times (one goal) for the professionals. In the 2022/23 season, Tillman was active on loan for Glasgow Rangers and also impressed there.
