Tommy Lee has had enough: The Mötley Crüe drummer punishes music colleagues for self-promotion during the fires around Los Angeles.

Tommy Lee: “Nobody cares about your album right now!”

The musician posted a simple text post on Instagram that made his frustration clear. “It makes me fucking sick to see that most people just keep posting lame things. Guys, no one cares about when your album is coming out or when you’re playing your next concert while so many people are in the middle of the biggest disaster of all time,” wrote Tommy Lee. “I understand that you need to loosen up, but let that all be damned and maybe see who needs help if you can give it.”

Double standards? Mötley Crüe with concert post

After the holidays, the music industry is slowly returning to its normal promotional work. However, this overlaps with the fires in California. Large areas of the western United States have been on fire since January 7th. Over 200,000 people had to be evacuated, thousands of houses are in ruins, including some belonging to celebrities. So far, 25 deaths and 16 missing people have been reported. So Tommy Lee is absolutely right that there are more important things to draw attention to at the moment than new music. However, just the day before his upset, his own band posted a drumming video from their last tour to reference shows in March and April. Ironically, Mötley Crüe joins the ranks of artists that Lee criticizes.

There is another way: Nine Inch Nails show the way

Nine Inch Nails, for example, did it differently: They only announced their tour yesterday, January 14th, because the news was already public through a leak. In addition to the confirmation, the band withheld any further information, citing the devastating wildfires. Instead of dates and stops on the world tour, they pointed to a selection of local aid organizations.
