No national title for futsal players FC Eindhoven after second large defeat

FC Eindhoven has lost the battle for the national title against Hovocubo. After the first match was lost on Sunday (2-6), the Eindhoven futsal players fell hard again in the second match on Friday evening: 8-3.

Trainer Jan Vogels was disappointed and realistic after the first defeat. “It will be very difficult, but we are going to sell our skin dearly. We are going to do everything we can to get a third game out of it.” That third game would come if FC Eindhoven would step off the field on Friday with a victory. The team that is the first to have two victories in their pocket will be crowned national champions.

In the half-time of the second final match, FC Eindhoven still had a full view of the win. ViaSaid Bouzambou, top scorer in the Eredivisie with 45 goals in 26 matches, is ahead. After Hovocubo managed to score twice within three minutes, Jordany Martinus just before the buzzer with a goal from close range for the 2-2 halftime score.

After the break, the favorite went out for the win to 5-2. Zakaria Amrani gave the Eindhoven team a little bit of hope, but the 5-3 was followed in the same minute by a new goal from the home team. In the end, Hovocubo scored two more runs to make the game 8-3 for the team that already won the Dutch championship six times before.
