“I don’t know how quickly a medical examination can be done, but I don’t think it is possible anymore that we are going to get someone.” Ruud van Nistelrooij was quite clear about the fact that a possible replacement for Cody Gakpo would be ready at PSV.

It remains to be seen whether his star player will actually leave. But the coach indicates that PSV will not wait. “At some point, the time will run out. But I can’t rule out a departure. We have done everything we can to keep him. I hope he stays.”

“We can’t get anyone anymore”

After the match, through the Eindhovens Dagblad to the outside that not only Gakpo possibly leaves for England. Ibrahim Sangare is in the interest of Chelsea.

In any case, it doesn’t make Van Nistelrooij nervous anymore. “I have experienced this as a player before. I am called when there is news, but otherwise I focus on the team. We can’t get anyone anymore.”

“We may no longer be able to refuse an offer on Thursday”

As much as PSV would like to keep its strongholds, there is always a financial picture that has to be right. “We have to deal with that,” said the trainer. “We may no longer be able to refuse an offer on Thursday.”

The English clubs have a little longer than, for example, PSV. Where the transfer deadline here already ends tonight, it is 24 hours later abroad.
