Sports betting offices will have to verify the identity of their customers from October 1. That is what De Standaard and Het Nieuwsblad write today. The identity check should make it more difficult for minors or people on the ‘excluded list’ to place bets. That list serves to protect people with problematic gambling behavior and is already used in casinos, arcades and online betting.
