National goalkeeper Alexander Nübel probably has no future at FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart. The transfer rumors surrounding the 29-year-old are gaining momentum – and are quite spectacular.
According to “Sport Bild”, not only Italy’s record champions Juventus Turin, but also Premier League giant Manchester City are dealing with Nübel.
Both clubs have already contacted his management. FC Bayern’s price tag should also be between ten and 15 million euros.
At ManCity, the goalkeeper position is currently very prominent: Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 2025 Champions League winner with Paris Saint-Germain and an Italian national goalkeeper, is usually between the posts.
In addition, James Trafford is a highly promoted young English goalkeeper. Number three is veteran Marcus Bettinelli. It is clear that Nübel cannot count on a regular place if he moves to Manchester.
What may speak against Juventus is that the Old Lady will not be represented in the Champions League next season.
The question of the future for Nübel, whose loan contract with VfB Stuttgart expires at the end of June, remains complicated.
No future at FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart
According to the report, VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß is said to have advocated working with the previous number one beyond the summer. But this was probably never a serious option, especially given Nübel’s exorbitantly high salary.
Instead, the Stuttgart team will rely on Dennis Seimen in the future. The 20-year-old top talent is returning to the country after a loan spell at newly promoted Bundesliga club SC Paderborn.
Nübel is said to have already been informed that FC Bayern is not planning to work with him. “Sport Bild” reports on a secret meeting with goalkeeping coach Michaelrechner.
There is a risk of a hanging game at first. Because: A lightning change for Nübel before the World Cup is considered impossible, the paper writes.
