No duels between Ukrainian and Belarusian teams

The European Football Union (UEFA) bans meetings between Ukrainian and Belarusian teams in European competitions. The association announced this on Friday.

The decision was made to “ensure the safety of the teams” and applies to draws “until further notice”.

Since March, UEFA has urged Belarusian teams to play their home games on neutral ground.

The reason is Belarusian support for the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine.

Since then, Russian clubs have been excluded from all European competitions, and the Russian national team was not allowed to compete in the play-offs for the World Cup in Qatar.
