The prosecutors stated this on Tuesday morning during the first part of their indictment in the criminal case against Manodj B. (42) from Hoorn and his father Dwarka B. (65). Both are suspected by the Public Prosecution Service of involvement in the death of the Surinamese student of biomedical sciences. Manodj B. would then have disposed of her body.

“All signs of life were abruptly aborted after February 18, 2018,” said one of the prosecutors. “She has completely disappeared from the face of the earth without any announcement. There is no digital trace, no indication of a prepared departure and no indication that she has voluntarily disappeared.”

Bansi was living with B. and his family at the time and became pregnant. She herself was happy with the arrival of her baby, but because of the pregnancy, the honor of the Hindu family B. was at stake. In an earlier pregnancy in September 2017, the student had already decided to have an abortion under pressure from the host family.

The sentences against Manodj B. and his father are expected around noon.

Last week served the first day of session. A charged day in which the young woman’s parents who came from Suriname made use of their right to speak. The parents will be back on Monday.
