Elisa (Gioli) and Giada (Amanda Campana) are two sisters profoundly different but united by a strong family bond and by the management, in the fictitious Belvedere in Chianti, of the “Le Giuggiole” estate where they have lived since they were children together with their mother (Cecilia Dazzi). If Giada is prone to complex relationships and often without a future, Elisa is an independent woman who is not looking for love. Little inclined to social conventions and single mother of teenager Linda (Margherita Rebeggiani).
Suddenly the old owner of Guggiole dies and the Michele brothers arrive in Tuscany from Milan (Cristiano Caccamo) and Carlo (Sebastiano Pigazzi). The only heirs of their uncle’s estate, the brothers soon want to get rid of it to build a golf course. A project that inevitably clashes with the local reality and with the sisters. Giving life to a tangle of tensions, attractions and personal transformations: In fact, Elisa is in love with Michele while Giada is in love with Carlo. Will love be able to change the minds of the two brothers?

An irresistible rom-com based on the bestselling book by Felicia Kingsley. The review
Inspired by the novel of the same name by the Italian queen of the “romance” genre, It is not a country for singles is a delightful romantic comedy much less superficial than it might seem. Like Felicia Kingsley’s book, the film is a contemporary retelling (in Tuscan style) of Pride and prejudice by Jane Austen. With the advantage of modernize some elements of the novel by giving a contemporary touch to the “classic” story of two rivals who discover they love each other.
Directed by Laura Chiossone, the film is shot gracefully and without flourishesmaintaining for the entire duration an irresistible comic rhythm in a whirlwind of feelings and love dynamics that involve all the protagonists. Even though the Tuscan landscapes are filmed for the use and consumption of potential future tourists, It is not a country for singles hits for sincere originality with which he addresses literary styles.
