This punishment is the result of a settlement between the Alkmaarders and the KNVB. The number six in the Premier League won the competition match at Telstar on January 25 with 1-0.

On Wednesday, AZ qualified for the cup final on Sunday, April 19, at the expense of Telstar. AZ faces NEC in the Rotterdam Kuip.
First, the Alkmaarders will have a tough away match at leader PSV next Saturday.
