“No automatic price increases, just increasing data volume”: can new telecom player DIGI keep its promises?

As of today, DIGI Mobile is entering the Belgian telecom market as a new player. For just 5 euros per month, the fourth major telecom operator offers an unprecedented price breaker that competes with Proximus, Telenet and Orange. How does it keep prices so low? And will the rest follow? Jeroen Degadt from DIGI Belgium and professor Lieven De Marez explain. “Other players are sometimes two to three times more expensive, but there is still something they need to fine-tune before the competition starts.”
